Essential Oils (Aromatherapy Oils) are the highly concentrated, volatile, aromatic essences of plants. The history of aromatherapy essential oils dates back to centuries ago to ancient civilizations such as those of Egypt, India, China and Greece. The phrase, ‘essential oils’ itself however was not coined until sometime in the sixteenth century in some part of the Western world.
There are a lot of therapies and medications to treat asthma. Some are for preventing occurrences of asthma attacks while some are used to relieve an asthma attack. Aromatherapy falls into the preventive category. It is never advisable to use aromatherapy during asthma attacks. Asthma attacks are usually due to irritated lungs and may worsen if not given the correct medication.
The health gains of organic lavender essential oil include its capability to take off nerves, ease pain, clean scalp and skin, increase blood movement and treat respiration troubles. Lavender has the Latin name Lavare, meaning to bathe, due to its fragrance which fills in a room disperse with lavender oil with a clear aroma. Even the Chinese medicinal practices are rich in cures with vital oils in acupuncture, massage, inhalations and baths. The antique Indian medicinal system also deals a lot with the medicinal oils. Knowledge of aroma therapy and its scientific basis began after a French Chemist Gattefosse showed that vital oils can enter the skin and mix with the extra-cellular liquids of the body which are then carried to the different organs.
