It certainly brings so much relief to know that there are foods to prevent aging. Imagine the money you can save when you don’t have to buy every top of the line moisturizer or cream that is being advertised on the net and elsewhere!

Why, indeed, would you choose a costly product over one that you can get at practically no or little cost to you? The ultimate solution to a host of skin problems, more particularly aging, is just within your reach — literally. Whoever said that “at home is where beauty begins” certainly knew what he was talking about.

It is, indeed, possible to prevent aging through foods, in particular, those foods that contain lots of Vitamins A, C, and E, and antioxidants. Examples of these cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, radish, lettuce, spinach, and many other fresh, dark green and leafy vegetables. These veggies nourish your skin while at the same time helping you maintain your weight.

Tomato dishes are good foods that delay the onset of aging, too. Eating raw and fresh tomatoes or drinking fresh tomato juice prevents the formation of wrinkles. It has been said that a daily dose of this antioxidant can give your skin a natural pinkish glow so you’ll look like you’re wearing makeup even if you are not.

The Vitamins A, C, and E, are essential in tissue healing and regeneration. It is therefore highly recommended to eat foods that contain these essential vitamins. A good example of this is watermelon. Watermelon moisturizes your skin and keeps you from getting dehydrated too, Good sources of Vitamin E are avocados and spicy red peppers.

Choco lovers need to give up their love for chocolates in favor of good skin health. There’s an amazing discovery that the caffeine found in chocolates are rich in antioxidants that beautify the skin. A word of caution, though, chocolates also tend to increase blood cholesterol levels, so never eat too many chocolates a day.

Years ago, beautiful skin was found only in celebrities or rich people. If you are neither of the kind, you will just have to deal with that fact. However, as you can see, there are foods that prevent aging, and these do not cost as much as the skin care products being sold in the market these days.
